Norwex Dishwasher Detergent

The Norwex Super Jet Dishwasher Detergent is a phosphate, ammonia and bleach free, highly concentrated dishwasher detergent that conditions and softens water, minimizes hard water lime build-up and is biodegradable.

Used For:

  • Dishes, glassware, silverware, plasticware, pots and pans.
  • Washes and rinses china and glassware.
  • Helps minimize water spotting
  • Conditions and softens water
  • Removes sticky, greasy residue
  • Minimizes hard water and lime build up
How to use:

  1. Pre-flush and remove large food particles from dishes.
  2. Rack dishes and utensils carefully, being sure that soiled surfaces face water spray. Wash promptly after each meal.
  3. For restaurants and commercial use: Add one cup directly to wash tank. For home dishwashers: Add one tablespoonful. Do not sprinkle over dishes but add directly to wash tank dispenser. Start normal operation.
Separate stainless steel from sterling silver. Do not spill onto silver items as detergent may cause dark spots. (Removable with silver polish) Note: Not recommended for hand dishwashing.

Now this is the second area where the Magnet Ball becomes extremely important.  Without the magnet ball, you use 1 tablespoon of dishwashing detergent per load.  With the magnet ball; you use 1/2 - 1 tsp. per load.  The magnet ball carries a five year warranty so not only does it make the water react as soft water but it reduces the amount of detergent clogging up your machine and being flushed down the eco-system.

If dishes are spotty, you are using too much soap. You may only need to use 1/2 - 1 tsp if you have a Magnet Ball or salt water softener.

As with the Magnet Ball in my washing machine; I have to clean out the inside every few months to remove the buildup of mineral residue inside.  It builds up a hard coating almost like "coal chunks" and has to be cleaned out for the ball to remain effective.  Norwex recommends using an enviro cloth for this but I find the small end of a baby bottle brush to be much more effective.  The bristles get into the grooves inside the Magnet Ball whereas the enviro cloth just cleans the surface between the grooves.

Tip: Clean the inside of a thermos or coffee butler by adding 1 teaspoon of soap in and filling with hot water. Let stand for a few minutes then rinse thoroughly.

NB:  Not for use in dishwashers with stainless steel interiors

500 g./ 17.64 oz.  60 day Warranty.

Norwex Mattress Cleaner

INTRODUCING THE NORWEX MATTRESS CLEANER!

SO - ARE YOU SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY?

When I first read the statistics on dust mites, I started to itch!  I had never heard of these little unwanted guests in my bed before.  Now I find out that up to approximately 10 million of the little creatures could actually be snuggling up with me every night!  And, just to further nauseate you, each of these little buddies has between 20 - 50 poops a day.  Just Lovely!

The dust mites are microscopic bugs that primarily live on
dead skin cells regularly shed from humans and their
animal pets.  Dust mites are harmless to most people.
They don't carry diseases, but they can cause allergic reactions in asthmatics and others who are allergic to their feces.

Skin Cells and scales, commonly called dander, are often found in
lounging areas, mattresses, frequently used furniture and associated carpet areas, often harbor large numbers of these microscopic mites.  Since the average human sheds 1/3 ounce (10 grams) of dead skin a week.  That gives dust mites a lot to eat. Cats and dogs create far more dander than humans.

A typical mattress can contain tens of thousands of dust mites.  Sick yet?  Nearly 100,000 dust mites can live in one square yard of carpet.  Ready to convince your spouse to start bathing regularly? A single dust mite produces 20 - 50 waste droppings each day, each containing a protein to which many people are allergic.  Yuck!  The proteins in that combination of feces and shed skin are what cause allergic reactions in humans.  Depending on the person and exposure, reactions can range from itchy eyes to asthma attacks..  And finally, unlike other types of mites, house dust mites are parasites, since they only eat dead tissue.  Gross, but true.

Mites prefer warm, moist surroundings such as the inside of a mattress when someone is on it. (as previously mentioned) And pillows - did you know that 10% of the weight of a 2 year old pillow is dust mites and their feces?  About 80 percent of the material seen floating on a sunbeam are actually skin flakes.  Now I'm itchy again!!!

Norwex Mattress Cleaner is designed to eliminate dust mites and all organic material on sofas, mattresses and bedding; including duvets.  Apply every 4 months - 10 - 12 sprays for a double bed; 5 - 6 sprays for a single bed.  Do not saturate the mattress - mist lightly.  Leave to dry up to 4 hours before replacing bedding.  It is not necessary to turn the mattress and spray the other side.

How does it work?

The Mattress Cleaner contains live enzymes which eat through all organic material (including dust mite feces) and break them down into natural elements like oxygen, hydrogen and carbon.  These enzymes completely digest the organic material.

Note:  Do Not use on nonabsorbent plastic crib mattresses.  These are made of plastic and the cleaner will not soak in.  Wash crib mattresses with the Norwex Enviro Cloths that remove 99.9% of bacteria.

60 day warranty  350 ml / 12 oz

Norwex Crystal Deodorant

So where else can you get a deodorant that lasts for a full year?
The Norwex Crystal Deodorant is made from
Mineral Salts and is hypoallergenic, non-staining and non-sticky.  It stops
odour causing bacteria, but does not stop perspiration.

The directions for use provided from Norwex
are to Moisten the top of the stone and use on the under arms, under the breasts or feet.

When using, try not to get the stone wet close to the base as it can dissolve and fall off the base.  Rinse under water before replacing the lid.

I find that the Crystal Deodorant works extremely well.  It does not clog up the pores to prevent perspiration and is fragrance free.  It also works well feet both in runners and in work boots.

The only thing I disagree with is the method of application.  I think you should apply the stone to the wet body after getting out of the shower instead of getting the stone wet.  It works just as well, rather than have water dripping down into the base of the container.  Also, after you rinse the stone, pat it dry in your towel before standing it upright and replacing the lid.

I learned this the hard way by letting the base become wet after rinsing it.  The whole stone dropped out and crystalized when it hit the floor.  The second one has lasted about a full year now and everyone in the house has had their own for the same period of time.  (No - we don't share!)  We're selfish that way.

How does it work?

Your perspiration, when it first leaves your body is sterile and odorless.  When it comes in contact with the bacteria on your skin, the bacteria multiplies and it's the bacteria that actually causes the odour.  The mineral salts deodorant stone leaves a thin film of the salts on your skin and the bacteria cannot live in the mineral salts environment.  You will not smell at all.  It works better than cover-up deodorants.

How long will it last?

Since only a very thin film of mineral salts is used each time you put it on, one of our mineral stones should last for a year under normal use.  It is a huge money-saver over commercial deodorants.

Will it stain the under arms of my clothing?

Absolutely not!  Those days are long gone. The mineral salts stone will not stain or leave any white residue on your clothing at all.  No perfume smell and it dries quickly.

The Mineral Salts Deodorant Stone does not contain toxic chemicals, carcinogens or aluminum that are typically found in national brands found in most stores.  There is a growing controversy over whether aluminum compounds cause breast cancer and Aszheimer's.  It is, however, documented that the known carcinogens and toxic chemicals in national brands of deodorants can cause cancer and other debilitating diseases.  Deodorant is particularly dangerous due to the fact that it's worn constantly and these highly toxic chemicals are absorbed directly into the skin.

An added bonus to this little stone is that is effective when applied to mosquito bites, shaving rash/razor burns and other mild skin irritations. What more could you want?

Antibac Body Pack-Norwex Product Review

The purpose of these cloths is to cleanse your face and body without the use of chemicals.  The extremely fine cloth (ten times finer than silk) will clean skin more deeply and thoroughly than any other material.  The fibers are so fine that they bind grease molecules, remove all make-up and dry cells from your skin.  No soaps, abrasive alcohol or cleaning tonic is needed; use only water.

Fantastic to use after shaving, especially if ingrown hairs or a rash are issues.  It helps remove dead skin cells and bacteria from the skin's surface, thereby reducing the likelihood of follicles becoming infected and inflamed.  Follow facial cleansing with our Face and Neck Gel is the perfect post-skin cleansing product.

These cloths also exfoliate your skin; which removes dead skin cells and leaves skin clearer and brighter.  Exfoliating is a major part of keeping skin blemish-free because bacteria gets trapped under your dead skin and if you don't remove it regularly it will cause breakouts.

Exfoliation helps speed up the process of new skin turnover, removing the thinnest and outermost layer of skin consisting of dead skin cells.  Dead skin cells leave a dull layer and lifeless appearance on the skin.  When we are young, our body produces new skin cells at a faster rate.

Exfoliation increases lymph and blood circulation which aids detoxification of our skin, the largest organ of elimination.  Light pressure to the skin is calming to the nervous system and will encourage new growth of skin cells.

Skin is replaced on the body every few weeks and there are dead skin cells, soap, oils, moisturizers and tanning products on your skin's surface most o the time.  The new breakthrough in ultra-fine fiber technology enables you to clean your skin deeply and thoroughly with only water.  The Body Cloth is a natural way to clean skin, remove make-up and exfoliate.

HOW TO USE:

For dry or sensitive skin including around the eye area, leave moisture in the cloth.  For oily skin or for a deeper exfoliation, wring the cloth out well prior to use.  The more water in the cloth, the less it will remove oils and exfoliate.  The less water in the cloth, the more it will remove oils and exfoliate.

Step 1:  Wet face and remove make-up with a damp Body Cloth
Step 2:  Rinse under warm Water
Step 3:  Use other side of cloth to continue cleaning face or body
Step 4:  Rinse in warm water and hang to dry.

For managing acne, use a fresh cloth each day.  Click here to read "Acne is a 4 letter Word"

This unique new material is a revolution in hair and cosmetic skin care.  With the Body Pack cloth's ultra-soft texture you will get a better result in a natural and non-abrasive way.  The extremely fine material (ten times finer than silk) will clean skin more deeply and thoroughly than any other material.  The fibers are so fine that they bind grease molecules, remove all make-up and dry cells from your skin.  No soaps, abrasive alcohol or cleaning tonic required; use only water.     back

Product Review - Norwex Ultra Plus Laundry Detergent

I absolutely love going to markets and trade shows with this product!  We make up samples to hand out to all the customers.  One scoop of soap in a little plastic bag all tied up with a nice ribbon.  Each scoop is two tablespoons of soap.

As customers approach the table, we ask them if they have a top-load or a front-load washer.  For a top-load washer, you use 1 scoop of detergent per load, ie: one sample pack.  But for a front-load washer, you only use 1/2 tsp. of laundry detergent!  Therefore,  the sample pack we are handing them will actually do 8 loads of laundry!

It's really funny to watch the look on their faces and also how many times we have to repeat it until they actually believe that we aren't totally confused.

You see, the Norwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent is a highly concentrated super stain removing powder that is biodegradable and contains no perfume or fillers.  It is gentle enough for newborns laundry or people with sensitive skin or eczema.  A 1kg. bag currently costing $20.99 plus tax will do up to 40 loads of laundry in a top-loading washing machine. (double that if you use the magnet ball as you use only 1/2 the amount of detergent)  NB:  The magnet ball can't be used in front-loading machines.

For a front-loading washing-machine using only 1/2 tsp. per load, that same 1kg. bag will do approximately 320 loads of laundry. Just toss it right in on top of your clothes instead of putting in through the dispenser.  The amount is so minute that it doesn't even make it down through the dispensing system.

The Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent is:
  • Safe for High Efficiency machines (please follow your machine's warranty)
  • Low-sudsing, scent-free, biodegradable
  • Super stain removing powder, whitens whites, brightens colors and cuts grease and grime on clothes.
  • Has optical brighteners and color enhancers
  • Contains no fillers or perfumes, so is safe for newborns and people with sensitive skin or allergies
  • Excellent Stain remover when mixed as a paste and/or a spray-on solution
Note:  No fillers means less wear, fading and pilling of clothes.  There is no residue left on the clothes so that they will not attract dirt as quickly as before.  It also decreases clogs in the machine's drains as well due to the absence of fillers.

Lately I noticed that I seemed to be going through a lot of detergent but finally nailed the culprit.
Our grandson had moved in with us a few months ago and I actually caught him putting two scoops of detergent in with a load of his laundry.  Shame, Shame, Shame - I even use a Magnet Ball!

Despite his protests, I just couldn't see fit to ban him from the laundry room so we'll just have to keep him on the training program.  Oh well.....

This is definitely great Laundry Detergent.  Give your old detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets to someone you really don't like and go totally healthy and green in your laundry room!

Norwex Dryer Balls - Product Review

SO DO NORWEX DRYER BALLS WORK?
Absolutely!  But when it comes right down to it, you can use any brand of dryer balls you like as long as they are cylindrical in shape.  The unique design of the Norwex Dryer Balls lift and separates the laundry while softening the fabrics.  The round dryer balls that you normally see on the shelves simply bang and thump around in the dryer and are totally ineffective.

Norwex explains the concept of the cylindrical shape of the dryer balls as "creating a Centrifical force that lifts and separates clothes, allowing air to flow more efficiently and reducing drying time. My colleagues claim that using dryer balls reduces the drying time of a load of laundry by 25 percent.  I've found the number to be more around 15 percent.  Basically, I tell my customers that if they still have static using the dryer balls that they are drying their clothes for too long.

The real bonus of using dryer balls is getting rid of both the fabric softener and dryer sheets permanently.  Not only are they expensive to buy, but these are two of the most toxic chemicals you will find in your household.  Click here to read more.

The dryer balls are non-toxic, allergy-free and safe on all fabrics.  Because they lift and separate the clothes during drying, they soften and require less ironing. In areas with cold winters the dryer balls have to removed from the dryer after each load as the cold air from the outside vent
could crack them.  They can, however, remain in the dryer from spring to fall.

For best results, use with Norwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent.  It is highly concentrated and uses only 2 tablespoons a load for a top-loading washer and 1/2 tsp. for a front-loading washer!  If used with the Norwex Magnet Ball, you use only 1 tablespoon for a top-load washer.
Unfortunately, you can't use the magnet ball in the HE washers - it's too heavy.  Of course, you could always use the door for a basketball hoop later! :-)                                             back

Magnet Ball - Product Review

The Norwex Magnet Ball has to be one of the most under-rated items in the Norwex Catalog.  Norwex describes the Magnet as a money-saving device that removes calcium molecules from the water by magnetically attracting them to the inside of the ball; making the water behave as "soft" water. They recommend that you use the Magnet Ball in both your dishwasher and washing machine.  Note:  Not to be used in front loading washing machines.

By softening the water, the premise is that you will save money on detergent in your dishwasher and washing machine because you can use 50% less soap.

I haven't been able to find any scientific information that will confirm the claim that Norwex makes but from personal experience, I can tell you that it does work.  I live in the city and supposedly have
treated water but still use the magnet ball.  Approximately every 3 months I have to use the small end of a baby bottle brush to clean out the inside of the magnet ball.  What gathers inside the ball is a hard black crust - definitely a mineral material attracted by the magnet.

For those outside of the urban areas without treated water, the magnet ball may provide some help; but the only way to truly soften the water is to have a water softener outside the house before the water enters the system.  This runs true to "smelly cloths" as well.  If your water is full of minerals, your Norwex cloths will smell the same as your old cloths did as it is your water that is causing it.  They will need to be soaked in vinegar and then boiled for 10 - 15 minutes to get the smell out of them.

I firmly believe that Norwex is correct in their statements.  I leave the Magnet Ball right in my washing machine and use 1/2 of a scoop of Norwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent.  (Approximately 1 tablespoon)  Our laundry has been done like this for over 2 years now and I am perfectly happy with the results.  It has also driven the very toxic fabric softener out of our home.

The Magnet Ball is 6cm x 5cm x 5cm and carries a 5 yr. warranty

Norwex Cleaning Hand Pads (Alternative to Magic Eraser)

The Norwex Micro Cleaning Pad is offered as an alternative to the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and, I suppose, all the competitive products that have been introduced since it came on the market.  But here, I'm going to give you both sides of the story as I know it.

The Norwex Micro Pad is chemical free!  They are also 25x more effective at deep cleaning than just the envirocloth as it is a lightly-abrasive sponge.  As they are chemical free, there is no danger of the micro pad causing abrasions or chemical burns. There are the standard precautions attached to the micro pad that are attached to other like products:
PLEASE USE CAUTION on painted/wood surfaces, as the pad is abrasive.

DO NOT USE on auto paint, polished/glossy surfaces, or brushed, satin dark or faux finishes.

Norwex recommends that you cut the micro pad into 4 pieces before using to prolong the life of the pad.

Having used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for a few years prior to trying the Norwex Micro Pad, I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed in the Micro Pad performance. Accustomed to black marks wiping off the walls with ease; I found that I had to rub quite hard with the micro pad and even introduce some dishwashing detergent into the mix.  I also found that the micro pad broke down easily.

On the other side of the fence:
I have had professional painters tell me that they can identify every area where someone has used a Magic Eraser or similar product to remove a spot off a wall.  Apparently the chemicals soak right through the paint into the gyprock and should be primed before they can re-paint the wall.

Although there are several stories floating around about the harmful chemicals in the Magic Erasers, including Formaldehyde; you can easily do your own research on-line by just calling up "Mr. Clean Magic Erasers".  There are lots of websites available containing information on the subject.  You can  readily obtain the MSDS sheet on the erases by calling up "Magic Eraser MSDS"

So the jury is really out on this one folks and I'd love to hear your comments.  I try to stay chemical free and use the micro pad first.  But when I need power - I still have my Magic Eraser hidden deep in the cupboard under the kitchen sink.  (ssssshhhhhh - its a secret!)

Baby Body Pack - New Baby Colors!

MICROFIBER FACE CLOTHS

NOW IN RAINBOW COLORS!

Imagine - Baby Cloths now available in baby colors!  What a novel idea!

These marvelous little face cloths come in a package of three (3) and are made of the highest quality microfiber.  The new breakthrough in ultra fine microfiber technology enables you to clean your skin deeply and thoroughly with only water.  Each fiber is split 100 times and each split in the fiber is a "grabber" that picks up dirt and bacteria.  It is a natural way to clean and exfoliate the skin.

Babies begin life with immature immune systems.  Their tiny bodies are slowly subjected to many bugs as their immune system develops.

Care must be taken not to introduce the wrong bugs to your baby's environment through the use of infected cleaning cloths or sponges.  Sponges are the absolute worst thing you should use when bathing a newborn as they harbor bacteria.  The Antibac Baby Cloths are a chemical-free way to clean your baby with a cloth that inhibits bacterial growth.

When using the Baby Cloths, you wash with water only - no soap, therefore eliminating the introduction of chemicals to the baby's body right from the beginning.

The best of the best about these cloths:
  • Great for cleaning baby's gums
  • Exfoliates dry skin
  • Great for cleaning baby's bottom instead of using skin drying disposable wipes
  • Great for treating open sores
  • Helps prevent diaper rash by removing bacteria before a rash can occur
I absolutely love these cloths.  They make a great shower or baby gift and I always keep them on hand for just those occasions.  Every new mom should have at least 6 on hand!

Item # 309030   20 cm x 20 cm   3-color pack   2 year warranty

If you're looking for the Mommy size cloths, you might try the Norwex Body Pack

Norwex Car Wash Mitt

Now this is the perfect gift for the car enthusiest in your family!

The microfiber Car Mitt does it all for washing the exterior of your car and your Nascar wannabe will race to get your car washed!
One side of the Car Mitt is chenille microfiber (like tufted little green microfiber fingers) and the other side is microfiber with a layer of sponge to hold more water.
  1. The dirt and debris that is collected in the cloth washes out easily with just a rinse with a bucket or hose.
  2. The Car Wash Mitt hold both soap and water well.
  3. The material gently lifts dirt and gently washes away the grime.
HINTS, TIPS AND HOW-TO's:
  • Before washing your car, make sure that the car is in the shade and the paint surface is fairly cool.  If you can comfortably hold your hand on the hood, it is a good temperature to wash/wax the car.  In the shade would be fine - but never on pit row.
  • Spray the car with a gentle spray to completely wet the surface.  Work from the top down, re-wetting as required, washing and rinsing each section as you go.  This way soap or dirty water does not dry on the paint.
  • Car enthusiasts will prefer the new Norwex Car Mitt to other washing methods.
  • When rinsing the mitt in the wash bucket, rinse well and every so often hold the top open, allowing it to fill with water.  Then, lift it straight up.  As the water runs out, the mitt "back-flushes" the trapped dirt from the mitt.  Dump the pail of dirty water on the track manager.

  • The flat surface of the traditional sponge can sometimes catch dirt and act like sandpaper.  The Norwex Car Mitt allows grit to work up onto the long fibers to reduce the risk of scratching the paint during washing.
  • REALLY serious Nascar wannabe's will probably want two of these flashy green mitts - one for the top half of the car (the cleanest part) and one for below the trim line and wheels.

For a streak free shine on the windows and mirrors; you might also consider the Norwex Car Cloth.
Color:  Lime Green
Warranty:  2 years
